Setting the Stage for Your Web Site
When you go to purchase your domain name and hosting company for your web site it can become very confusing and frustrating because of the language and the add-on's the companies want to upsell. Don't let yourself get 'tricked' into purchasing add-on's you won't need or use. In this class you'll learn the do's and don'ts of selecting and purchasing your domain name and hosting company. PLUS Keywords or phrase are what people type into a search engine or directory looking for information, services, and products. Not having the correct keywords in your domain name and placed strategically throughout your site can 'make or break' your Internet business. Discover keyword tools that are free for your research. Before you pick a domain name, your www, keyword research is your first step. You'll be shown keyword tools to assist with your research that are free or for a small fee for the right and perfect keywords for your industry, niche, and domain name.

Installing and Creating Your WordPress Website
WordPress Web Sites are the rave and the program is free as well as easy to use and maintain. Learn how to install WordPress and then pick out a template theme, design, and layout for your site. Upload your theme choice using an FTP program. Discover the settings and plug-ins needed to keep your web site free from spammers. Identify the five most important pages to include on your site, where to place important elements for your visitors, create categories for your blog posts and more.

How to Attract Visitors to Your Website
This class will show you how the proper formatting and use of media components, such as video, audio, and pictures on your web site are very important to attract visitors and get traffic. Identify where to obtain free pictures, videos, and audio and how to insert them into your web pages or blog post. Study how to upload your own videos or audio to your site. Focus on how to format your pages and posts using color, font, font size,
bold, headlines, quotes, and hyperlinks.

to social media. Make Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn part of your business vocabulary. Discover how to choose social media sites to find people in your target market, create interaction, and build valuable relationships that can lead to sales. Not sure what you should be posting online? Learn the ABC's of social media etiquette. Each student will have the ability to set up their accounts in class and begin networking.
